Lighting thatserves thearchitecture.
Najmalux is a new architectural lighting practice in Muscat, founded in 2025 by V. Gireesh after more than thirty years in the GCC lighting industry — most recently heading the Lighting Division at Khimji Ramdas. The discipline is decades deep. The practice itself is new. Our Muscat shop opens in April 2026.
Origin.
Najmalux is new. The hands behind it are not. V. Gireesh has spent more than thirty years inside the GCC lighting industry, latterly heading the Lighting Division at Khimji Ramdas — one of Oman’s oldest trading houses. He left in 2025 to start a practice that answers only to the architecture. Najmalux opens its Muscat shop in April 2026.
- 2025Departure from Khimji RamdasV. Gireesh steps away from Khimji Ramdas after years of heading its Lighting Division.
- 2025Najmalux foundedAfter a brief hiatus, the practice is incorporated in Muscat — built around the same standards, answering to no one but the architecture.
- APR 2026Muscat shop opensOur showroom opens to the public. Consultation, specification, and supply under one roof.
By the numbers.
Three disciplines. One standard.
We organise the practice around three services. Each can stand alone, but the work is best when a single team carries a project from first consultation to final commissioning.
- Consultancy
Lighting analysis, specification, and compliance review. We read drawings, walk sites, and write the documents that protect the design intent all the way to handover.
- Design & Implementation
Systems design, prototyping, and on-site commissioning. We engineer the solution and stay on the project until the last fixture is aimed and the last scene is tuned.
- Supply
Premium LED fixtures, drivers, and control systems. Products we would specify ourselves, sourced from manufacturers we have worked with for years.
Founder
“Light is the only material in a building that you cannot touch — and the only one everyone notices.”
— V. GIREESH, FOUNDER
V. Gireesh founded Najmalux in 2025 after more than thirty years in GCC lighting, the last of them heading the Lighting Division at Khimji Ramdas. He leads the new practice with a preference for quiet rooms, long drawings, and the discipline of getting photometry right the first time.
