We build lightthat outlaststhe building.
This document states what we are trying to do, how we intend to do it, and what we will be measured against. It is short on purpose. Everything we build should be defensible against these sentences.
Vision.
To be the lighting practice that architects and designers in the region call first — because the work is quiet, precise, and built to last. We want our installations still functioning, still looking correct, still serving the architecture twenty years after commissioning. We are not interested in being the largest. We are interested in being the one you specify when the room cannot be wrong.
“Quiet. Precise. Built to last.”
To engineer every installation as if we will maintain it ourselves.
Read the architecture first. Write specifications that protect the design intent and refuse substitutions that would compromise it.
Calculate every aiming angle, every luminance target, every control scene. Leave no decision to the site that could be made on paper.
Be on site when the fixtures are aimed. Tune the scenes with the designer present. Hand over a building that actually matches the renders.
Stay available after practical completion. A lighting scheme is a twenty-year relationship, not a delivery receipt.
Six values.
- PRECISION
If it cannot be measured, it cannot be defended.
- CRAFT
A fixture is a made object. Treat it like one.
- LONGEVITY
Design for the second decade, not the opening night.
- SERVICE
The client hired the architect. We serve the architect.
- INTEGRITY
Specify what we would install in our own homes.
- SUSTAINABILITY
Every watt spent should earn its place in the scheme.
